Memorial Fort opening show!

after months of daily attending,
Memorial Fort, which has been growing in a secret grove in the hills of Richmond Ca, is approaching its ribbon cutting moment....

On, Sunday, September 20th, 2009,
Ribbons and Hot & Cold invites you to please join us at this first fort gathering for an afternoon and early evening of picnicing, exploring, listening, and building (final fort touches)

we will be joined by:

LUCKY DRAGONS
the voiceghost of Daniela Gesundheit from Snowblink
a cello performance by Gael Alcock

we will be celebrating many things including: doing nice things with your friends, doing things you loved to do as a kid as an adult, and of course the grandest finale of Hot & Cold magazine who have been co-conspirators in the building and presenting of this place.

a set of directions has been drawn up to help you navigate your way onto the secret path which has been etched into the grassy hills outward and downward to the forest nook where this forest fort lives. you'll need a copy to get there, and copies have been made to get into the hands of everyone who would like to come.

A set of directions can be acquired in these ways:

-first and foremost, if you get a copy of Hot & Cold issue 1, the directions are included. this will be released at an opening on September 11th at Baer Ridgway. best option for sure duh.

-I'm having an opening at Hatch gallery in oakland this friday, September 4th, you can pick one up there if you ask me.

-I'll be helping build some swings and djing up at the Invisible Ocean festival in Mendocino this weekend, and I'll bring some copies, so ask me about if you see me.

-or, if you can't make to either opening or festival, email me, and we'll make it happen: ribbonspublications@gmail.com.

almost again

I've been pushing hard to draw to close a drawing that's been a full year in the making. It's going to be part of the exhibit accompanying the final release of Hot 'N Cold magazine, opening real real soon. And with that, I better head to the hills and get to work.

Invisible Ocean

my dear friend eli has been taking on great efforts to organize what's feeling to be an unbelievable music gathering on a farm up in mendocino. it's going to be a camp out, on September 5th and 6th, with a healthy slew of bands, screenings, swimmings, dancings, and dinings. it's not to be missed so give it a serious look:

here's some views of the site....Old Mill Farm

and, if you missed its premier screening in sf like i did, you'll be very happy to know that eli has planned to screen Dear & Yonder....so good.
....I'm on the east coast enjoying some cape cod classic time....surfing and friends and fried clams...and now off to brooklyn, and then off to my bros wedding....hope all's well back west (i miss the fort). here's what last summer's version looked like.
