Myeth Wyeth
one of my favorite painters, Andrew Wyeth just passed on.
frank once had a moment of clarity in which he realized that sir Wyeth is my spirit animal.
It's true...growing up, my parents had a print of one of his paintings that I would stare at endlessly and I think it peaked my appreciation of the feeling of "plain." Seeing the way he paints grass gives me the warm shivers and makes me want to draw grass all day long. And that painting of the boy: feel it.
here's some days I spent drawing dune grass.
thanks to max for waking me up with the news. thanks to frank for calling me to share a moment. thanks to gravel and gold for also posting up on the man.

Well, bless my heart! How warm and fuzzy that wee Wyeth's hat is! Who knew that raccoon fur and grass could have so much in common? The barn blog led me to this nice place. Kathryn says you also have some good dead insect drawings.
i like bugs.
Its funny how just today I sent a message to a friend and told him how I used to get in trouble in Chadds Ford elementary for daydreaming while staring at Wyeth paintings. The painting far away was one of them and is one of my favorites. I too could stare at at Andrews artwork for hours. I clicked on the image of Far Away and it Led me to this site. Gave me chills when I saw your comment.
I grew up in Chadds ford Pa and the Wyeths had a huge influence on me. There was a Wyeth painting hanging in every classroom in Chadds ford elementary. Chadds Ford is where Andrew and Jamie Wyeth are from.
Andrew Wyeth is also my favorite painter I particularly love his study of Helga. While I find her rather...uh...manish, you can see through his art how beautiful she was in his eyes.
I never hear about him, until now and he have good jobs, this kind of pictures are interesting and very simple, which cool because the pictures can adapt to any environment in any house.
I enjoyed following the whole entry, I always thought one of the main things to count when you write a blog is learning how to complement the ideas with images, that's exploiting at the maximum the possibilities of a ciber-space! Good work on this entry!
