with friends the fort grows.

I mean dead bird wednesday, snake skin thursday, bird fetus today...what will it be tomorrow, some t-rex fossils? please.

I've been taking a little hiatus from my collection...I like to bring home specimens from places for further inspection and drawing discovery, but lately I haven't been so hungry for it. I think it's important to not always do the things you 'do' just cause you tend to do them. avoid the staleness. That said, I got a bit reinvigorated today when I found a bird fully intact, except that it's head was a eaten away by ants and left as a skull. amazing. I'm not really sure what that says about me. ah well.
this is the second whole bird to enter my life and live in my collection of treasures. the first was this hummingbird. amazing. I can't actually claim the feeling of finding that one...my coworker from the berkeley art museum at the time called me up on a weekend to tell me he found it and that he'd save it and bring it into work for me. again, not sure what that says about me. I'm the guy you give cool dead stuff too?

like last year we celebrated with a screening of the claymation movies that we all made, followed by a wild dance romp. who knew that "I like to Move It Move It" is the chart topping dance hit in the kids dance world...luckily its one of my favorites, so I could play it for them over and over.

and here's one more picture by cielle that I think is quite nice:
